Max Begins His Soccer Career

Today was the first soccer practice. We weren't sure if it would happen because they had been forecasting down pours of rain. As you can see from the pictures there was a lack of water. We are thankful for the lack of rain because there are only 3 practices before the games begin.

Max didn't really seem all that interested in playing after we signed him up in July. I was beginning to be concerned it would be waste of our time. However, after Brain started working with him this week his interest in playing also increased. Max actually did a good job of controlling the ball. He was running, kicking, and trying to make a goal. He also did a good job of listening to his coach. That is actually one of the most entertaining parts of day. During the practice they would do activities for roughly 15 minutes and then take a drink break. (It was humid and hot today) Max would come running over and say "the coach says to get a drink and then come back to the field. " The funny part of that is Brian (dad) is the coach. For the last week we have tried to explain to Max that his dad would be his coach and yet he still said I have to see what the coach says about that. With all that said, We survived the first soccer practice and looking forward to next Saturday.
